03 Aug 2011- Middle East- IV epidemics are emerging in several countries in the Middle East and North Africa among men who have sex with men, a term that encompasses gay, non-gay identified homosexual men, and transgendered and bisexual men.
28 May 2011- Young black men who have sex with men (MSM) get infected with HIV nearly five times more often than MSM from other races, even though they don't have more unprotected sex.
Having had to gather for world Aids day this year, it must have contributed to the awareness of HIV/Aids around the world as well as recognising those that are living with Aids. Looking at my country and its economy, it’s lacking in so many things, there’s a lot of campaign around Africa and western countries regarding hunger, what about HIV/Aids? How much effort is being put into having affordable medication in Africa?
04 Mar 2006- Living with hiv is something that most of African gay men have come to accept but its all about three things in one and that’s being gay, hiv and being in the closet.
Its now become a well known thing that there are a lot of African gay men living with hiv abroad and looking at where they are coming from, most of these gay men are still very much in the closet.
13 Mar 2006- I’m 34 years old and was diagnosed of HIV in 2001, I must say that it’s not been easy for me having to cop with being HIV and being on treatment that’s actually made me even worse than I ever felt before starting my treatment. I know a lot of African gay men living with the virus in some African countries would very much want to be on treatment, but how much would it cost their lives at the same time having to spend much more on the expensive HIV drugs?
28 Aug 2006- Durban- A South African judge Monday ordered the government to start providing anti-AIDS medication immediately to sick prisoners at a Durban prison, throwing out an appeal by the health and prison ministries against an earlier ruling.
Judge Chris Nicholson said the government was in contempt of court for ignoring the previous order.
